Hi all

Hi everyone. I thought that I would try and post something on my own journal. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but thought I'd give it a go anyway. :) We had a very nice weekend down in West Palm Beach at my niece's bithday party. She turned 3 on February 15. It's hard to believe she is so big already! Marcail did not do well on the drive down Friday night. It's about a 4 1/2 hour drive from north Florida, so she was in the carseat for a long time. She slept on and off, but about an hour from my brother's house, she just started wailing. And she gets herself so worked up that she sweats like crazy and then chokes on her spit. It always freaks me out. But we make it there in one piece. :) We tried going out to dinner Saturday night, too, but that didn't go over well with the baby. It's really surprising that she has problems at restaurants, because she has always been around noise. Ever since she was born, we have never been really careful about being especially quiet around her during the day. But she cried and cried and cried at dinner. It was so stressful. Jonathan says we're not doing that again until she's older. Ugh. Our ride back home yesterday was much, much better. She slept a lot of the way and when she was awake, was very chatty with us. Much more enjoyable! :) We got home around 8:30, fed her and put her to bed. And she slept until 7AM this morning. I am such a nervous mom, and I have to admit that I'm more so since news of Gracie. I do my best to relax, but it's pretty difficult. I just want to keep Marcail as close as possible. Ok, well, I just wanted to try this out, so I hope it works! :)

good job carrie! it worked! :)

you did it! i'm so proud!

i wonder what makes babies sensitive to noise. lydia never seemed to care much about what the levels were when she was smaller. it can get pretty quiet here at the apartment during the day. we take 3 hour trips to my parents house and lydia usually sleeps the whole way, even with our loud music playing on the front speakers of the car (loud in nature not actually blasting through the speakers)

when i visited my parents for a week, my mom and i took her to grocery stores and rambunctious family functions. and at restaraunts it just seems like she looks around all chill taking in her surroundings.

That's really nice! I wish that Marcail were more calm at restaurants. We took her to The Cheesecake Factory with us on Friday for lunch and she just howled! She finally fell asleep, so we weren't sure if the noise bothered her or if she was just really tired since she hadn't had a nap yet. Either way, I was so stressed out and kept thinking someone was going to tell us we had to leave. :) I just don't understand it. She never was bothered by noise when she was first born. And we're not extremely quiet around the house now. Ugh. Babies...why can't they just tell us what's going on? :)
